I think this is the last of the explaining lol MARATHON (3/5)-Matt's POV"He disappeared and I was told by mother he had gone on a business trip over seas. I didn't really believe that he had a job but she insisted that he had. I decided not to move from the floor for two days after that day. I was cold, numb and empty. Although mother came down with food once a day, I felt so lonely. I came to the conclusion that maybe dying wouldn't be too bad, I found myself thinking of ways that I could kill myself which were quick and painless. After a while, I stopped talking to mother and in return she just bought me food and ignored me. It must of been two to three years later and in all that time, father hadn't come back, mother had come to see me less and less, bringing food every few days or so. I'm still surprised at myself for lasting so long. I was suicidal and yet I managed to keep that last little bit of sense in the back of my head, telling me something will happen and not to give up. It must of been fate when I decided to drag myself up the stairs and try to pick the lock of the door. The door was always locked but I hadn't even bothered to try and get out until now and I wasn't even sure why. I was trying to pick at the lock with an old rusty clip but it just snapped. I gave up and slumped against the door, cold, tired and hungry. It was no use for me living, if that was all I had to live for so I heaved myself up and leant against the wall thinking 'would throwing myself down the stairs kill me or just cause me lots of pain?'I was just about to step forward and answer my question when I heard a faint voice. I stopped and leant my ear against the door to listen properly. I didn't recognize the voice as they continued to shout out someone's name. I definitely knew it was a girls voice but it wasn't mother. The voice got closer and I could just about hear that she was calling all of your names, when she mentioned Kevin's, I finally got some sense in me to actually bang on the door. I wanted to see Kevin again and I thought maybe this girl would bring me to him. I yelled at the top of my voice and hit the door as hard as I could, hoping that she would hear. I kept thinking this would be the only chance I had, to get out of the hell I was in and I tried my hardest to make that happen. After a while I heard the lock click and the door opened to reveal Charlotte standing there. Of course, she thought I was Nick and asked what I was doing locked in the basement. I couldn't answer her because one: I hadn't spoken out loud in over two years and two: I didn't know who Nick was so instead I just shook my head. She looked confused and asked me where Kevin and Joe were. I just looked down and shrugged, I saw her pick up a photo frame that had been knocked to the floor and look at it. I heard her gasp slightly and felt her lift my chin up, I flinched at her touch because well...I've never been touched without having pain inflicted upon me before. She looked from the photograph to me and back again until she finally spoke. She asked me if I was called Nick and I just shook my head no, then she asked me what my name was but I just shrugged.She suddenly held out her hand for me and I hesitated, I slowly took her hand and she pulled me along and out the front door into the night. I'd never been out in the dark before so I was quite scared and cautious. Charlotte had her phone out and she was dialing someone's number. She spoke to Amelia I believe, who told her that Nick had been in an accident and that they were at a hospital in New York. Charlotte immediately put the phone down and pulled me into her car, I assumed she was going to this hospital but I fell asleep after a while and didn't wake up until she had arrived. I noticed that it was morning so she must of driven all night, she took my hand again and pulled me into the hospital. She was asking me all these questions about myself but I couldn't answer, she made me wait in the waiting room while she ran off somewhere. I was amazed that I was out of the house but couldn't help wonder what happened to mother, she wasn't in the house when we left. Anyway, I waited for half an hour before I saw Charlotte running back to me, she took me to this room and that's when all this happened," I finished and sighed with relief, I realized that tears were falling down my face as everyone stood in silence. Nick looked at me and suddenly pulled me into a hug,"your safe now, no one will ever hurt you again. I will make sure of that, we're going to stick together from now on because...I love you man and I'll always care for you...WE will always care for you!" he rubbed my back reassuringly while trying to wipe the flow of tears that were cascading down his cheeks. At his words, I just cried harder, I was so happy and I didn't think that would EVER be possible!
