美国财政部8号发表报告称，美国政府目前已经使用了7000亿救援资金中的2669亿美元。其中，1875亿美元用于购买金融机构的优先股，194亿美元用于救助汽车产业，同时还向花旗银行和美国国际集团分别注资200亿和400亿美元。 此前，美国财政部长保尔森曾打算动用7000亿美元救助资金中的剩余一半，但始终没有向国会正式提交资金使用计划。8号保尔森表示，布什准备将这一问题留给即将上任的美国当选总统奥巴马解决。
