This opportunity is like a sore ass,...you just can't beat it.2009 in all of her splendor and beauty, brings us the new Sons Of Otis!!First off..if you guess its a cool lp...you're right...its everything i wanted it to be...heavy as holy hell in a box of hot lead,....seems since their last release they turned the tone low..creating a muddy, bass bearing sound.This release is the type of thing that comes like the tooth fairy to an 80 year old man with dentures,...catchword, cash in.Now I don't wanna go into how cool Sons Of Otis is...if you don't know...well....you sah,...are screwed.Spaced out...Monster Magnet meets the heaviest elements of Boris.This is the early 2009 release that almost,..(maybe in a few years), made me lose bladder control with excitement..and it delivers a blow that would typically do that to me, and many other elderly chaps along the way.Check em out...Sons Of Otis...new lp called,' exiled'. Sons of Otis are a stoner/doom metal band from Toronto, Canada, and although they have flourished under these headings, they actually predate the stoner/doom scene by a few years. Sons of Otis was formed by Ken Baluke in Toronto sometime around the years 1992 and 1993. Strongly influenced by the underground heavy music of the time (Melvins/Fudge Tunnel/Shallow N.D), their first release, "Paid To Suffer", turned out to be their most abraisive record to date. Subsequent albums took on a more ethereal, psychedelic tone, and this has led to their immiediate association with the Stoner Rock/Doom scene.Though the band has been together for roughly sixteen years, they haven't stayed that way without many seemingly insurmountable struggles. The band has gone through about 11 drummers and has at times resorted to a drum machine for recordings as well as performances. Every single record released by the band to date has been distributed by now defunct labels, leaving the band's back catalog consistently out of print. As a heavy sounding band, they're extremely hard to pigeonhole in terms of being involved in any one particular "heavy" scene. They've suffered the fate of receiving unfair album reviews and being generally misunderstood.All of this said, their contributions to the heavy music scene are regarded by some as wholly original compared to other heavy bands in any scene, and as a result they have a dedicated (albeit small) worldwide cult following. Sons of Otis take great pride in being first and foremost a live act. They generally receive enthusiastic reviews of their live shows and are a favorite among their peers because of their sheer live power.Sons of Otis will record and release a new album through Small Stone Records sometime in 2008.

Americans shouldn't be in the position of endlessly debating Israel's security situation and its endless religious and territorial conflicts with its neighbors. That should be for Israeli citizens to do, not for Americans. But that distinction -- between the U.S. and Israel -- barely exists because our political leaders have all but eliminated it, and have thus imposed on U.S. citizens responsibility for the acts of Israel.

The Black Widow, performing hundreds of trillions of calculations per second, searches through and reassembles key words and patterns, across many languages.In July, George W. Bush signed into law the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which gives the NSA even more power to look for patterns that suggest terrorism links in Americans telephone and Internet communications.The ACLU immediately filed a lawsuit on free speech and privacy grounds. The new Bush law provides farcical judicial supervision over the NSA and other government trackers and databasers. Although Senator Barack Obama voted for this law, dig this from the ACLU: The government [is now permitted] to conduct intrusive surveillance without ever telling a court who it intends to spy on, what phone lines and e-mail addresses it intends to monitor, where its surveillance targets are located, why its conducting the surveillance or whether it suspects any party to the communication of wrongdoing.
