Now that the Mumbai attacks are in the past, India's political future seems to be changing. Ranking members of the government are resigning over allegations they didn't do enough to stop the violence.STORY:Dramatic pictures from inside the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai, show armed guards protecting fire crews working to put out the remaining fires.As the clean-up gets underway, India is left to count the cost of a three-day siege where Islamist gunmen rampaged and killed nearly 200 people.Nine gunmen and 20 police and soldiers were also killed. A tenth militant was caught alive during three days of room-to-room fighting inside the Taj Mahal, one of several landmarks struck in co-ordinated attacks on Wednesday night.Anger at the intelligence failure and delayed response to the attacks prompted federal Home Minister Shivraj Patil to submit his resignation. Patil, seen here talking to news media on the first day, resigned because of the attacks, the ruling Congress party said. While ordinary Indians paid their respects outside the Taj Mahal hotel, political parties have been capitalizing on their anger and grief.The political fallout looks set to reverberate around the country.
