This video is a remix of a historical film, made in Lithuania in 1972.Originally this film tells a story about a tragedy of Prussian tribes which were concurred by the German crusaders in the middle ages. These tribes, which linguistically and culturally were similar to Lithuanians, later assimilated by Germans and vanished. Comparing with Western Europe, these tribes were less civilized and still pagan, so ideologically crusaders had to bring civilization and Christianity to these lands (and they really did) but they made it using method, which today we call genocide.My interpretation was to take a stereotypic model of Hollywood since fiction and fantasy movies and to show those two sides as two groups of two different beings: Prussians are apes (like in Planet of the apes) and crusaders are robots with artificial intelligence (like in Terminator, Star wars and Matrix). Apes represent a point of view of crusaders (because Prussians are primitive, wild, and dumb pagans) and robots represent a point of view of Prussians (because of shiny metal armor, discipline, and confessional fanaticism).
