Pravoslavni božič je družinski praznik, na katerega se pripadniki pravoslavne vere pripravljajo s šesttedenskim postom za notranje spreobrnjenje. Po domovih poskušajo ohraniti mir, zbranost in skromnost, da si tako približajo nekdanje dogajanje ob rojstvu Jezusa.Predvečer božiča družine preživijo skupaj na svojih domovih. Ta dan se imenuje badnji dan, kar pomeni bedenje in pričakovanje. Ta dan se na domove prinese badnjak; gre za manjši hrast, ki simbolizira trdnost novega nauka, ki ga prinaša Kristus. Nekaj vejic posekajo in ji izgorijo v peči. Po hiši posujejo slamo in vanjo dajo denar ter kakšen bonbon, temu sledi postna večerja. Tako je njihov dom simbolično pripravljen kot betlehemski hlevček. A short video showing the Thailand tailoring process. I brought fabric and drawings and patterns from the US to Chiang Mai, Thailand where the tailors made my dandy wardrobe come dreams come true for a very small price. The tailors used were Tu (next to the Boonthavon Guest House) and Denar (near the Hotel Mini Cost). Both are on the same soi in Chiang Mai in the northeast section of the old city.
