This was gonna be harder than she originally thought it'd be. Shannon: Ok, Joe, what do you wanna do? Any particular place you wanna go?Joe: No, I'll let you surprise me!Shannon: I suck at surprising people! Just so you know...Joe: Well where do you live?Shannon: Oh, it's just like five minutes from here, we'll drive by it and then I can show you like, where everyone else in my family lives. That'll be a good way to show you around town. You get to pay for gas by the way.Joe: Thanks!Shannon: I'm only thinking of you, Joe! *She was trying to sound sarcastic, although she WAS only thinking of Joe! ALL the TIME!*Joe: So, do you get a long with your family?Shannon: Yeah! We spend all the holidays together and we hang out and junk. I mean, we're not the huggy type and we don't say I love you all the time. And we're not fake nice to eachother. If we don't like something someone is doing, then we point it out! My sister is probably the most sensitive when it comes to all that!Joe: I gotta meet your sister... if she's as bad as you say she is. I gotta see that!Shannon: Hey! I don't make her sound so bad... do I?Joe: Mmhmm...Shannon: Well, maybe you'll meet her and her boyfriend Kenneth sometime.Joe: Sounds good. Does she still go to church? We should hang out on Wednesday before work!Shannon: Um... that sounds all well and good, but my Wednesdays are booked.Joe: Booked? With what?! *He got this half confused, half ticked look on his face.*Shannon: *Jeeheez, he was nosey!* None ya bidness! No actually, I have a weekly lunch with my best friend Heather. We go out and it's sort of a mini tradition.Joe: Oh, well that's good. I can respect that. *Too bad it was a lie... She had therapy, but she couldn't tell him that* Shannon: *They were driving down Shannon's street and right when her apartment came into view she pointed at it.* There it is.Joe: Wow! That's way better than mine! You have a front yard and everything!Shannon: Pshh! It's tiny on the inside though. Yours is better!Joe: Well, let's agree to disagree, because I think I'd rather have a yard then lots of room on the inside of my apartment.Shannon: Fine then, we agree! To... disagree... *Joe rolled his eyes.* Ok, we're going to my mommas next! You'll like her, she's coolio!Joe: She's "cool"? Is she gonna give me alcohol and offer me illegal drugs?Shannon: *She narrowed her eyes at Joe and tried not to smile.* No! She's not THAT kind of cool! She's the kind of cool as in, she watches cartoons and plays video games cool! So you betta rec-a-nize!Joe: Fine! I rec-a-nize! Jeeheez! And also, thanks for making me say "jeeheez" ALL the time now! Shannon: Get used to it, all my weird words catch on! One time I spread the word "totes" all over youtube!Joe: "Totes"? Like, totally?Shannon: Yep. It was totes coolio!Joe: Coolio! *They continued their odd conversations all the way to Shannon's mom's house. Shannon knocked on the door like 50 times and covered the peephole.*Terry: Who is it? *She knew it was either Shannon or Andy.*Shannon: *In a deep voice.* It's your mom! *Normal voice.* Oh wait, I meant to say your dad! Lemme in!Terry: *She opened the door and rolled her eyes at Shannon.* Sup?Shannon: *She was standing in front of Joe to where he couldn't see her face.* Mommy, I brought my friend to meet you. *She started winking several times at her mom and continued talking.* His name is Joe JONES and he's pretty coolio. I only met him a few weeks ago. He works with me. *She continued to blink and wink at her mom until she turned to look at Joe and grabbed his arm to pull him next to her.*Terry: *She couldn't believe who she was seeing! And how on Earth had Shannon not sent her a message on MySpace at the very least to let her know about all this?* Hey Joe, nice to meet you! *She held out her hand and he shook it.*Joe: You too! I hear you like video games?Terry: Well, mostly RPGs. Do you play?Joe: Mostly like, fighting games and that sort of thing.Terry: Oh, so you like to kick ass, huh?Joe: *He laughed.* Basically!Terry: Well come on in guys, Minerva might get the urge to run out if we leave the door open too long, and don't mind her hissing at you, she does that to everyone. Including me.Shannon: It's true, she's an evil cat!They sat down on the couch and watched a Ben 10 marathon together all the while listening to stories of Shannon's childhood from Terry. Fortunately, Shannon loved hearing about her childhood and never got embarrassed about that sorta stuff. And Joe really seemed to enjoy the stories as well.
