On Thanksgiving day, November 27, 2008 around 14:25 a distraught man climbs the Coplay-Northampton bridge. Coplay and Northampton police arrive and immediately shut down the bridge as the man stands on the steel trestle over the bridge on the Northampton side. Police try to talk him down.First, It appears his mom shows up with his two kids. A few minutes later, his spouse or ex shows up and makes things worse. Eventually, after about 40 minutes, he slides down to safety. Northampton EMS takes him to a local hospital. Right under the trestle is railroad tracks. It would have been a hard hit if he would have jumped or accidently fell. 'tis the season...
