CHAPTER 20 PART 2Hey. Nick says as he passes me in the hall. I gave each of them a key to the house so they can come in whenever they want to. Hey.So me, Joe and Kevin are going to take Mandy out for dinner tonight. Tell her to be ready at 7. Well pick you guys up. He says licking an orange Popsicle.Okay. Is that my orange Popsicle? I ask.Uh he says as I take his hand and bite the top off the Popsicle. Hey, thats my favorite part. You get the ice cream first. He whines.Thats the consequence for eating my Popsicles. I say laughing. Tonight at dinner I was going to tell her. I was going to tell her about the adoption. I walk to the kitchen and pull out a giant post it and write:Be ready at 7. Were going out to dinner.I walk by her room and stick it on her door without stopping. I continue to my room and shut the door. Me and Joe went shopping last month and got new furniture for my room. The house was already furnished with new furniture except the bedrooms. We got a white wooden bed frame with a queen mattress, a matching nightstand, a white desk with a little stool and a new tall mirror. I also got two long blue soft rugs for the balcony and two soft chairs. I jumped on my bed and turned on the TV. I decided to watch X2 X-Men United to pass the three hours I had. Halfway into the movie I decide to get ready. I walk into my private bathroom and take a shower. I finish and slip on a big shirt and some shorts. I brush through my wet hair to get all the tangles out and then blow dry it. Once Im finished, I straighten my hair even more than it is. I walk into my walk in closet turn in a circle. Everythings color coordinated with the help of Nick. I decide to wear a black dress with white heels. I slip on the dress which goes a little bit above my knees and spin in a circle in front of my mirror. I can hear Mandy getting ready in her room so I turn up the volume on the TV and go to the bathroom to put on some black eyeliner. I curl my eyelashes but leave the mascara off and put some lipgloss on. I walk over to my stool and slip on my white pumps and look at the time. It was 6:55 so I walk to my closet and grab a white purse. I open my desk and pull out the adoption papers. I take another look at them and sign something at the bottom. I stuff them in my purse, turn off the TV, grab my phone and walk down the hall. I stop in front of Mandys door and knock. Mandy, come on. Theyll be here any minute. Coming. She says as I hear her trip. Ow. She says flatly. She opens the door which reveals her white knee length dress and black pumps with a black purse. Whoa. She says as she looks at me. Sister telepathy? Trip much? I say smiling. She looks at me and sticks out her tongue. A second later the doorbell rings. Can you manage to walk downstairs without killing yourself? I ask holding onto the railing.Yes. She says as I open the door. There standing in front of us were three guys in tuxes. Kevin and Nick were wearing black tuxes and Joe was wearing a white one. Joe and Nick were each holding a single white rose in their hands, and Kevin was holding two. Joe was looking down at his shoes when we opened the door until Nick gently elbowed him in the ribs. He looked up and smiled he handed me the rose and so did Kevin. I thanked them and he held out his hand and we walked to the limo.You look beautiful. Nick says as they walk to the limo.Thanks. She says blushing. We all get into the limo and start driving.So where are we going? I ask as I look over at Joe and he grins.Oh this will be interesting. Kevin says. A couple minutes later we pull up in front of Giovannis. Shall we? Joe asks opening the door and holding out his hand.We shall. I say following him to the front. A waiter leads us to a table and after awhile we order our food. Umokay, so I have something for you. I say nervously as I reach into my purse.What? Mandy asks. I pull out the stack of adoption papers and hand them to her. She looks at them and immediately her face fell.
