As the bright, orange sun slowly rose over the horizon, a loud radio alarm could be heard blaring in the distance. "Ugh, why did I turn the volume up so LOUD?!" Hadley thought angrily as she groaned and yanked the comforter over her head. Seconds later, Hadley's mom, Carol, slowly opened the door to Hadley's room and said in a singsong voice,"Hadley, honey, are you awake?" A muffled "mmmph" was heard from under the covers as "Shake It" by Metrostation was blasting in the background. "Good, because you've got a big day ahead of you! It's not everyday that you get a new job and get to meet the Jonas Brothers in the process!" Carol said cheerfully as she turned the radio volume down and walked out of the room. Slowly but surely, Hadley lifted the comforter off of her head and pushed the covers off the rest of her body and sat up. She swung her legs so they were hanging off of the edge of the bed, her messy, blond, curly hair resting a few inches below shoulder length. She was wearing white shorts and a light blue tank top that said, "Goodnight, Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite..." in bold, navy letters. She yawned and reached for her lime green hair tie that was sitting on the nightstand next to her bed. She quickly put her hair up into a ponytail, stood up, and faced the window."I hope today will be a good day..." Hadley nervously said aloud. "Hon, you up?" yelled Carol from downstairs. "Yeah mom, I'm up!" Hadley yelled back. "I'm up, I'm up..." she huffed under her breath.Because she had already packed her overnight bag and picked out her clothes to wear the next day the night before, she didn't have to pack or search for the perfect outfit at 7 in the morning. Hadley had picked out a teal shirt from Aeropostale with "Aero" written in white, faded letters on the front, cute jean shorts and matching teal flip-flops. Hadley picked up her large, pink floral L.L. Bean overnight bag and put it by the door. She walked over to her bed and leaned over to turn off her radio that was sitting on her nightstand while "So What" by Pink was playing into her ear. She turned the dial on her digital alarm clock until the music could no longer be heard and she got off of her bed, picked up her L.L. Bean bag, and walked out of the room. She closed the door and heard it latch behind her as she headed down the carpeted stairs into the kitchen where her mom was busy making breakfast. Carol had made eggs, bacon, and chocolate chip pancakes. "Mom, it's too early to be hungry..." Hadley moaned as she put her bag down on the floor next to her feet, "That's way too much food, even if I wanted to eat.""Hadley, try to eat as much as you can...you're going to need the energy, trust me." Carol answered."Fine...but I don't want eggs...eggs are gross." Hadley said disgustedly."But you used to love eggs..." Carol said confused."The key words mom, are 'used to'" Hadley said giggling."Alright...fine...whatever..." Carol laughed as she put the plate filled with bacon and chocolate chip pancakes in front of her daughter.Hadley took a few bites of the crispy bacon and was able to finish two of the chocolate pancakes by the time she said that she was full. "Thanks mom, now come on... let's go to the car...we've gotta get a move on!" Hadley said excitedly as she picked up her overnight bag and headed for the door."We're right on schedule!" Carol exclaimed proudly. "Auntie Cindy's waiting for us in Boston at the Sheraton Hotel so she can show you how to be the perfect assistant for the Jonas Brothers' manager! We better leave now if we want to get there in time.""Well it's only two hours away so it's not too bad," Hadley responded as she opened the trunk and threw her overnight bag into it and slammed it shut. Both of them got into Carol's silver Toyota Camry and they slowly backed out of the driveway and were on their way to Boston. "Mom, I'm still kind of tired...do you mind if I sleep?" Hadley said while she was yawning. "No hon, go right ahead." Carol said. "Ok, thanks." Hadley responded sleepily. "Night." While the car radio was playing softly, she quickly fell asleep, anxiously awaiting the rest of the day to come.
