1. Get a guitar or piano and learn some basic chords. The basics that every beginning musician should know are G, C, and D or A, E. You can learn on any guitar; electric or acoustic. Learn those chords and a whole world of rock music opens up to you. Learn a few a more and you can play almost anything. 2. Find a place to play. Most great bands start out in the garage. Another idea, would be to rent a storage shed for your band to play, and store your gear. 3. Get at least one microphone, and a stand to go with it. Playing songs is a lot more fun when someone's singing! 4. Recruit your band members. A trio or a four man group is an excellent way to start - electric guitar, a drummer, and a bass player (possibly a keyboardist as well). To find members try going to GuitarCenter or some place that has a public board for posting stuff. You can also find members online. bandFIND.com offers a fully featured ad system and invite system that should allow you to quickly and easily find other local people to ROCK with. 5. Create a song list. You and your bandmates will want to agree on some songs that you all like and want to play. For starters, five songs is a good number. 6. Learn the chords and words to those songs! Just do a Google search including the name of the song and the word tab. Try Chordie.com for chords. If you're ambitious, sit down with a recording and try to pick out the chords yourself by ear. There's no better ear-training in the world. 7. Now put it all together. Gather your bandmates and their equipment in your practice room and run through your five songs. You might want to bring printouts of the chords and lyrics. You want to be able to play your set 5 times through without making a mistake. Kurt Cobain always said, "If you don't practice 5 times a week...you're not really a band". 8. You're not quite ready to perform yet! Your band needs a sweet name. See the tips section. 9. Get your band a logo. You can put the logo on t-shirts, stickers, etc.. A good logo may cost 50-100 dollars, but it will give your band the ability to brand yourself and make a TON of money with merchandise. Find a designer that does band work. IAMwe design is a great design firm that does cheap and engaging band graphics. 10. Spread your name. Create a myspace music account to promote to fans and a bandFIND account to promote to the professional industry. Post songs and photos on both sites and invite all of your friends to join your fan lists.sex ladies guitar hero
