In 1964, Joan Rivers appeared in her first motion picture, Once Upon A Coffee House. The film just played in Miami, Florida and then was shelved. It was not until a few years ago, that Alpha Video agreed to release the movie on home video. They changed the name to Hootenanny A Go-Go.In 1964, Rivers was appearing with a group called Jim, Jake and Joan, at the Bitter End in New York City.I saw them appearing and wanted to use them in our movie. I always tell people that I discovered Joan Rivers.Anyway, the group flew in for their part in the film. Their sketches run about 5 or 6 minutes. What I've put up here is just a very short clip from the film. You can see their entire appearance as well as a lot of other performers if you buy the entire film.Alpha Video is selling it on their web site www.oldies.com or contact Satellite Media Production www.oldietv.comYou can also get it through us. Email me at fred@oldietv.comTake a look at some of the reviews of the film on www.imdb.comOne person felt it was the best film that depicted what the folk music crowd was all about in the 60's.
