Jacksonville Historic District Project DescriptionJacksonville, OR Documentation and Archival of core historic districtJacksonville is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, a few miles west of Medford. It was named for Jackson Creek, which runs through the community and was one of the first placer gold claims. The Jacksonville Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1966.As with many historical sites the as-built information available to the City of Jacksonville was almost non existent. Epic Scan was brought in to provide a data archive with a very high level of detail on all buildings within Jacksonville's historic core. This was followed by elevation drawings created from the scan data. The project is continuing on with Google Earth integration.
