Abyss returned to action at Slammiversary 2008 after the X Division Championship match wearing a white asylum uniform with his inmate number and his last name 'Park' on the back and a new grey and black mask. He came to the ring attacking Petey Williams, Scott Steiner, and Rhaka Khan by performing a Black Hole Slam on each of them, and then carrying the injured Kaz out of the arena. Since then, Abyss has not had any matches, but has made after-match run-ins to save other faces from assaults by heels. Though when he gets his hands on weapons he seems to hesitate and drop the weapons.
