On ec 3, 2008, as I was hiking in the El Yunque rain forest in Puerto Rico I shot some video of the plants, waterfalls, vistas, etc. Turns out I located the site of a small airplane crash but didn't know it at the time. We were evacuated out of the forest/mountain and told there was an accident. I thought someone had fallen or got lost. If they mentioned plane crash, I would have known that it was the small plume of smoke I was filming off in the distance. At the time I thought it was a BBQ in some mountain dweller's backyard. The 24Heures de Villars is a ski race for everybody and is made up of two 'easy' downhills (one during the day, the other during the night). It is a team relay race, and the teams accumulate a maximum number of kilometres to raise money for charity.Through the foundation Formula Charity this event has distributed around 4 million francs to worthwhile children's charities.The Race - Competitors of all standards get the opportunity to participate in a team race for 24 hours, often alongside sporting greats like Jacques Villeneuve, Franz Klammer, Damon Hill, Patrick Ortlieb, Henry Leconte, Mika Salo, David Coulthard, etc. Normally around 900 skiers in 150 individually sponsored teams of 4-8 people take to the slope for the benefit of charity.The Concert - On the Saturday night a pop-concert takes place on the mountain to entertain the spectators and keep them warm!
