Goofing off on the Santa Monica Ferris Wheel.In Santa Monica, California, just before Memorial Day, the famous solar-powered Pacific Wheel was disassembled to make way for the sparkly new LED-Lit solar-powered ferris wheel. The new wheel stuns the crowd with its 160,000 LED lights which are wired to an image controller. The controller could create season-centric images on the ferris wheel using the LED lights to form hearts, snowflakes, and the like. All these LED lights are powered by the same solar panels (capable of producing 71,000 kWh) used to run the old Pacific Wheel. The new LED-Lit Solar-powered ferris wheel measures 90 feet in height and can carry up to 800 passengers per hour. The caveat: this new ferris wheel manufactured by Chance Morgan Rides cost Santa Monica a whopping $1.5 million.
